DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT from the centuries...

Over 200 years ago, Thomas Kelly was known as "the Isaac Watts of Ireland." He wrote some 765 hymns in his lifetime that were sung all over Ireland and much of England. Here is a beautiful, soaring example of his very singable lyrics, ... poetry that most people today have never read nor even heard the name of its very devout and talented author:

Praise the Savior, ye who know Him!
Who can tell how much we owe Him?
Gladly let us render to Him
all we are and have.

Jesus is the Name that charms us;
He for conflict fits and arms us;
Nothing moves and nothing harms us
while we firmly trust in Him.

Trust Him! saints forever!
He is faithful, changing never;
Neither force nor guile can sever
those He loves from Him.

Keep us, Lord, O keep us cleaving
to Thyself, and still believing;
Till the hour of our receiving
promised joys forevermore!

Then we shall be where we would be;
then we shall be what we should be;
Things that are not now, nor could be,
Shall be ours forevermore.

JESUS made the Way.
He opened Heaven's Day.
Eternity to shine: in your heart and in mine:
JESUS made the Way. Halleluyah!
JESUS made the Way.
