Why is the 7th day holy? & "A Sabbath Day 1,000 Years Long"

[Jesus] Six days, creation...the seventh, rest, holy. Six days since Adam...the seventh, rest, holy. Six days in the week...the seventh, rest, holy. Six days shall you feast...the seventh, rest, holy.

[Letters From God and His Christ - Volume 5]

The “seventh day” of creation, and a period of rest, a Sabbath Day one thousand years long.

During the thousand-year reign of Christ, or the millennium, the whole earth will rest. In Hebrews 4, the writer discusses the Sabbath as a day of rest. He uses Israel entering the Promised Land as a type of our entering into rest when Christ returns. If the week typifies the length of God’s plan, we are now living on “Friday”, the sixth day, as almost 6,000 years (a thousand years as a day) have elapsed since Adam’s creation. We will then enter the seventh day, the millennium, a day of rest, when Christ reigns on earth.

For we that believeth do enter into rest, as He said, As I have sworn in My wrath, if they shall enter into My rest, although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. For He spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, and God did rest on the seventh day from all His works. And in this place again, if they shall enter into My rest. Seeing therefore it remaineth that some enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief, again He limiteth a certain day, saying in David, Today, after so long a time; as it is said, Today if ye will hear His voice, harden not your hearts. For if Jesus had given them rest, then would He not afterward have spoken of another day. There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.” ~ Hebrews 4:3-9

[Timothy inspired by the Spirit] One day has passed, the second is ending, and just before the third, the Lord’s elect shall rise and live. In the third day they shall be established and live in His sight. Also five days have passed, the sixth is ending, and the seventh is coming quickly. ~ [Vol. 3, Letters from God and His Christ - The Word of God is Truth...Leading to Life]

[God] Then shall the final Sabbath day come, for it is the seventh day of creation, the one thousand year Day of the Son and His Kingdom, in which the entire world shall rest from their evil-doings, and live in the sanctuary of God. Indeed, many things shall be put to rest in the seventh day, even that of death and evil. ~ [Vol. 1, Letters from God and His Christ - Remember the Sabbath and Your God, and He Shall Remember You]

[God] Behold a new day!...The seventh, even one thousand years... all these kingdoms have become the kingdoms of My Christ. ~ [Vol. 5, Letters from God and His Christ - Consummation]

My Bible does not name Jesus in Hebrews 4:8 but, Joshua. He is speaking about the Jews who perished in the desert after being freed from Pharoh and of their perishing because of unbelief, which is a heart of rebellion. As I understand the thousand year reign of Christ, the Jews of that time will also accept Jesus as Messiah and will at that time enter the same rest of God that those of us in Christ now enjoy.

As of all things in the future, I peer as into a dark glass and not all is yet clear. Differences in understanding future events are no reason for believers to part company.

Yes, "Differences in understanding future events are no reason for believers to part company." And that is what it is isn't it?
But I must tell you, when I post the Lord's own words there is no room for debate...only acceptance or denial. The Word of the Lord stands as is. I can never be moved on this unless I deny Him and what He has spoken for the sake of men or women. As I said though I welcome all good conversation in Christ and all sincere question of faith. I know you know the difference between sincere questions and when people are speaking from pride or arrogance. I do not see this in you, I have only seen sincerity in Christ.

RE: the word "Jesus" or "Joshua": In my KJV it says "Jesus" I will research this more and pray and get back to. Thanks for telling me.

That is interesting Timothy and Jason. I have also been taught that Joshua was a foreshadowing or 'type' as my denomination put it of Christ. I think I'll go read about Joshua and see what the Lord shows me.:0)

I think the conversations have been good today and that all has been given a good airing. May Christ be glorified in all those who seek out the truth of His Word and the validity of those who teach in His Name.
