A Two-Faced Salvation?

How about our bodies? They’re aging and breaking down. They are more susceptible to disease than ever. Our bodies are not fit for eternity. Furthermore, they are permanently contaminated by our flesh, the old part of us that is in constant rebellion to God. The rescue of the body occurs when it is replaced with the resurrection body to match Jesus’ resurrected body.

1 Corinthians 15:42-44: “So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body.”

That resurrection body is not only important because it is the new ‘container’ for our soul and spirit, but it is the body that is spiritual. Our current body is a physical thing. It can only sense the physical things. But we are going to be rescued from this physical body (and the flesh) when it dies or Christ comes back for us. This final ‘salvation’ bodily rescues us from the physical and ushers us into new spiritual body which will allow us to see our glorious Lord and Savior as He truly is:

1 John 3:2: “Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.”

I don’t know about you, but this brings tears to my eyes to think that there is a day I will be able to see Jesus in all of His glory for all of eternity.

When I was born again, Jesus came to live in me forever. I have always had holiness since that day, but it not of my making it’s all of Him:

Hebrews 12:10b: “… that we may be partakers of His holiness.”
Ephesians 4:24: “… and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.”

I encourage you to read the epistles of Paul, Peter and John and ask the Lord to show you how secure your salvation is because you have come to trust Jesus Christ as your Savior. This is where we all come to grow in our understanding of who we are in Christ, now that we have become children of the living God:

John 1:12-13: “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”

All sin is sin, and requires forgiveness. All sin is not equal, only forgiveness is equal. All sin is forgiven through the cross.
