Part 5: Continuing to Examine Our Identity in Christ

4 More Jewels in Our Inheritance as Children of God

We Are Not Recipients of the Wrath of God

"…we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were [past tense] by nature children of wrath, just as the others. But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved) …" Ephesians 2:3b-5 NKJV

What a load falls from our shoulders when we realize, that as a child of God, we will never be under His wrath! Human fathers can and do fail. Their wrath can fall upon us, taking the form of a brutal beating or banishment from the family. But as God's children, His wrath will never fall on us.

God's wrath only awaits the people, who reject His only begotten Son. The book of Revelation reveals His wrath through a series of miracle disasters, so that the world might repent of its unbelief in Jesus, and come to Him by faith.

Just as Pharaoh was given miracles to change his heart before Egypt's judgment, the lost world is given its miracles in a 'last ditch effort' to change its heart before judgment.

These last prophetic signs reveal the world as lost, and in need of repentance. It's the final appeal of God to those left, to turn from rejecting Jesus and accept Him. If they opt to reject His final appeal, God's final wrath, the Lake of Fire, becomes their final resting place.

Beloved, why do you ask of your sins and their forgiveness? Do you not know they were forgiven before the foundation of the earth through My Son, the Christ. For He knew you then and knows you yet still. For I have forgiven you, yet you have not. Confess all in your heart, and feel My presence, and My forgiveness will come into you and give you peace. ~ God [Letters from God and His Christ - Volume 1 - Open Your Heart to the Lord, and He Will Give You Rest]
