Universalism = Salvation by works?

Universalism is one of the VERY few philosophies that gets it right about reconciliation. Reconciliation is universal, and no man will have to answer for sins nor goto hell for sins - because the Lord Jesus Christ's work on the cross took away the sins of the world. Every man / woman / boy / or girl on this earth is reconciled. PERIOD.

I agree with every Universalist on this - we are reconciled to God apart from anything we do, say or think. We are reconciled completely based upon what Jesus did FOR us.

Reconciliation, however, is not salvation.

"For if, when we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!" - Romans 5:10

Saved NOT by His death.
Saved by His life.

His death reconciled human soul, and what remains is spiritual birth through His life. Here is where one might be prone to place upon man the burden of entering salvation.
