A Prayer for GraceHeads and LawHeads …

A Prayer for GraceHeads and LawHeads …
by Bud

I’d like to say thanks for tuning into Trent’s site. He’s been a dear brother in the Lord for a long while, and has a keen understanding of the truth and power of the grace of God revealed in Jesus Christ.

I’m grateful and flattered to have a few articles I developed for a teaching newsletter added to the GraceHead Cyber Library.

The grace of God is not some dictionary definition of “God’s unmerited (unearned) favor.” Ultimately the grace of God is not just a concept; grace is personified in Jesus.

Stop and think a moment, what has God ever done for humanity or creation that was not initiated by His “unearned kindness.” Pondering and accepting the grace of God is the starting point to discover the love of God. Why did God offer His grace? Because He is Love.

When acting as a LawHead, we join the self-righteous mob, trying to run up a collection of brownie points and earn our way into the God’s acceptance. Being a LawHead can be a cold and calculated choice, or misdirection and deception through persistently trusting our flesh.

When it comes down to it, LawHead-ism comes from living a proud and independent life as a “practical” atheist. We live trusting our own wisdom and resources as if we have no need of Jesus beyond salvation.

When acting as a GraceHead, we are walking by faith in Jesus Christ knowing and understanding that He first loved and accepted us, while we were still His enemies. We understand our life is to be lived the same way we began it, through faith in Him.

A GraceHead friend of mine sent this prayer a few days ago. (Like any writer, I tinkered a bit.) It was a stark reminder of how easy it is to be tempted into a rush to judgment as a GraceHead or a LawHead.

Who the Lord has cleansed is worthy of His purpose. Call him not defiled or unworthy. What the Lord has cleansed, in the blood of the Lamb, is a new creation...virgin. ~ God [Letters from God and His Christ - Volume 2 - All Have Been Purchased, Few are Chosen]
