A Two-Faced Salvation?

A simple way to work through the confusion is to first, replace the word ‘save’ with a similar word ‘rescue’ in a verse. Then, ask yourself rescued from what? This helped me get a handle on this a long time ago.

Every human being is born dead in trespasses and sins. Only the resurrected life of Christ, can cancel that death and overflow into eternal life.

Colossians 2:13: “And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him [Christ], having forgiven you all trespasses,

Romans 5:10-11: “For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be rescued/saved by His life. And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.”

1 Corinthians 15:45: “And so it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being.” The last Adam [Jesus] became a life-giving spirit. “

Now, what are we rescued from? Spiritual death. The cross ended us being God’s enemy, so we could come alive to Him through faith in His Son.
This is the salvation we commonly talk about. It is the salvation we are talking about when we proclaim the gospel. This does not separate our souls from our spirits, when we receive eternal life. Our souls are bound for heaven and the New Jerusalem along with our spirits.

Our souls are: our mind, will and emotions. They are heaven bound. But do they ever need to be rescued/saved from anything during the day?
