Jesus, Deny ME?...What's Up with That?

The only time denial is ever linked to Jesus is with those facing Judgment (Matthew 25:31-40; 7:21-23) and the eternal sentence to the Lake of Fire (Revelation 20:15-17). They are specifically identified as false prophets and false teachers (such as the Judaizers, pagans or the Essenes)who have denyed Christ as our 2 Timothy passage proclaims. Their emphatic denial of Jesus exposed them as lost people who invaded groups of Christians to spread their lies:

“But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them—bringing swift destruction on themselves. Many will follow their shameful ways and will bring the way of truth into disrepute. In their greed these teachers will exploit you with stories they have made up. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping.” 2 Peter 2:1-3

“For certain men whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are godless men, who change the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord.” Jude 1:4

Although forgiven through the cross, the false testimony they proclaimed revealed them as people who'd never trusted the Lord. And because they did not have the Son, they did not possess eternal life.

"Who is the liar? It is the man who denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a man is the antichrist—he denies the Father and the Son. No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also." 1 John 2:22-23

"And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life." 1 John 5:11-12

Salvation begins with Jesus at the cross bringing forgiveness and ends with Him offering His own eternal life in the resurrection: “For if, when we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to Him through the death of His Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through His life!” (Romans 5:10).
