He is from above; we are from below.

"You are from below; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world." - Jesus

If you have ever seen "Men of Honor" then you can imagine the drama that can take place underwater in diving suits like in the picture. These atmospheric diving suits were not self-sufficient. Air had to be pumped through long hoses from the surface to the suit to enable people to explore or work in the deep seas.

To the sea creatures below, they could encounter someone that was "from above." Though there is little doubt that such a concept would not be apprehended by all the creatures below. However, to the One going below that is "from above" the context of their existence would make this obvious, and all sea creatures would be unambiguously from below, as they-themselves are from above.

This is an illustration of Jesus, the Lord and His coming "from Above".

Jesus, is the Word, that was given an earth-suit so that He could go under ... and exist among us, though an invisible tether joined Him to the Father above, and nourished Him with the Spirit.

Why did He come? What was His ultimate objective?

John 6:57 As the living Father hath sent Me, and I live by the Father, so he that eateth Me, even he shall live by Me.

Our faith answers these questions. He came to give all the elect the same Spirit that sustained Him. We, the elect, are connected to Him.

This is like unto a diver in a diver suit, connecting sea creatures to his own suit. Not connected direct to the above pump, but a diver supplying the hook-up through their own selves ... their own diving suit, a surrogate ... a go-between.

"I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. ... Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned." - Jesus

I serve , the Lord.

Please enter the name of the Lord (the Risen One) into the entry area BEFORE clicking on the Send comment button.

Hint: the version of the name is the English version, not the Hebrew way to say His name. All letters are uppercase. Rhymes with "freeze us."
