I am the Love for which you’ve searched for so long,

I am the Love that will keep you from wrong.

I know your pain, for I suffered it, too.

I am the Love that’s loving you.

I knelt in the garden in great agony.

I prayed, “If it’s possible, let this cup pass from Me.”

I knelt there in sorrow, my heart full of dread

At the thought of the suffering I faced just ahead.

Then I paused for a moment and I looked down through Time

Past the souls of all ages, found those that were Mine.

I saw your pain, it hung in full view.

Then I whispered so gently, “I’ll do this for you.”

I hung on the cross in fear and great pain.

I was mocked and rejected, my heart broke in twain.

I was hungry and thirsty, I hung there in shame.

I longed to be ministered to but nobody came.

Then I paused for a moment and I looked down through Time

Past the souls of all ages, found those that were Mine.

I saw your pain, it stood in full view.

Then I whispered your name and said, “I’ll do this for you.”

I rose from the grave so all creation could see

The power of Life still flows out of Me.

Satan stood there defeated, his works became tame.

He still trembles and fears at the sound of My Name.

Then I paused for a moment to cross the threshold of Time.

I stood right beside you, I knew you were Mine!

Your pain was so great, its as if a part of you died,

We stood there together, and together we cried.

I held you so close and said, “Child, can’t you see

I did this for you; cast your burdens on Me!”

Yes, I am the Love for which you’ve searched for so long.

I am the Love that will keep you from wrong.

I know your pain, for I suffered it, too.

Oh, I am the Love that’s loving you.
