There is no rut like sin stifled by pride.

One of the problems that I want to be rid of ... is a parent problem that has lots of problems that are born from it.

It is a problem of wanting to admit my sinful shortcomings but pridefully hanging on to them while doing so.
If I could get put an end to that problem, then I could get rid of countless more as I admit them.

Hi Trent. God has given us the answer to the problem. Pride will manifest itself in your life through self love, seeking self honour, being self dependent, trying to be self righteous without Christ, walking in self will, always defending the selfs rights.(how dare they say that about me). Humility defeated Pride at the cross.Jesus said.Come follow me when Christ is your life you dont have any rights to defend. He owns you,He purchased you with a great price. When God placed us in Christ He placed us in 2 places at the same time in His death and in His life if we dont stay in His death or on the cross we will find this new life will become a struggle. Sorry. We have to do it Gods way. The Fathers will for Christ was the cross. Gods will for us is the cross.I love Jesus. donny.

Your struggle is not unique, Trent. We all have our moments of hypocrisy--and if I could put an end to that problem, then I wouldn't need Christ to do it for me. Your words remind me of this passage in Romans 7:18-25:

18 I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. 19 For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing. 20 Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.

21 So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me. 22 For in my inner being I delight in God's law; 23 but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members. 24 What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? 25 Thanks be to God—through Jesus Christ our Lord!

We can't put an end to it, Trent...only Jesus can. And since this problem is something we both struggle with, I guess that means that we'll have to be more forgiving of the other person's shortcomings in that area. After all, we're still works in progress, right?

Now, I'm only going by what you wrote...if you meant something else, please clarify a bit more if I missed it :)
