Grace is only sufficient for current reality.

Reality.

Reality is only found in the present.

If I want to exploit your rational ability to deal with something, then all I need to do is get you to pretend in your mind that something is true when it is not ... and the best way to keep you in fantasy is to get you to think about the past, or the future. The last thing that I would want you to do is to focus your mind on the present and the reality of right now.

God is the great "I AM" ... He is the present (here and now) help in times of trouble.

God NEVER delivers any of us from a future problem, because future problems are NOT REAL. God is far too REAL to war against fantasies in our mind about tommorrow.

God has never rescued anybody from something in the past, either. He is Here in the present ... the "I AM," not the 'i will be' or the 'i was.'

When you are tempted to ponder the past or the future, instead think of how those events would have turned out different, if in those moments the participants were trusting and relying upon the Lord Jesus. Would they have done the same thing and had the same attitude if in those times the had a fresh revelation of God's love and acceptance?

I submit that God's love and moment by moment abiding would have made things alot different and can still make things different in times to come, but that realization of the fantasy of how things could be different only leads me to the firm conclusion to surrender completely in this present moment to God's control. No matter how far we ever stray we are only a thought away from a completely new course with His Spirit speaking to us as a lamp unto our feet and light unto our path.

There is no other wisdom to be gained from things that happened in the past, except that we gain a new appreciation for a smooth road God leads us to, by how tough and difficult things became as soon as we traveled alone and without God's guidance. And that wisdom takes us not to the past, nor to the future ... but to this existential moment ... the very moment that is right now ... the only moment which reality exists in a way that we have anything to do with it. And this present moment is the only time to find the Great I AM ... here with us and greater then any situation that we are up against.

You will never find relief for a moment that you are not currently experiencing. So don't expect God to rescue you from a fantasy that someone invented when they were out of touch with reality themselves.

Reality is now. Salvation is now. You cannot afford to travel this moment with your mind on the future or past, unless you want to travel this moment without the Great I AM.

"And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." - Jesus.

How blessed you are to know this at such a young age. I am only now learning to live in the moment. My grandmother wrote a poem and one of the lines that describes my nature to a Tee is "I am an anxious person, always looking ahead or behind..."

I think about war vets that suffer from Post Traumatic stress and I too had trauma in my past the cemented me into this mindset. When something really terrible happens, it's easy to get stuck always trying to see ahead so that you can keep it from happening again. That is a miserable way to live and it is much better to surrender to the fact that we have no control to prevent any bad thing from occurring or reacurring. It is much, much better to trust Jesus and live in the moment. It's much more realistic too.

Happy Sunday, Trent!

One of my all time favorite quotes . . .
"To see a world in a grain of sand and heaven in a wild flower;
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand and eternity in an hour."
Auguries of Innocence
~ William Blake

- Sooner or later, The Holy Spirit BRINGS US to this place of grace...and then we L*EARN to abide There.

blessings and Shalom.
