2 cor 12:6-10

If I had a mind to brag a little, I could probably do it without looking ridiculous, and I'd still be speaking plain truth all the way. But I'll spare you. I don't want anyone imagining me as anything other than the fool you'd encounter if you saw me on the street or heard me talk.
Because of the extravagance of those revelations, and so I wouldn't get a big head, I was given the gift of a handicap to keep me in constant touch with my limitations. Satan's angel did his best to get me down; what he in fact did was push me to my knees. No danger then of walking around high and mighty!
At first I didn't think of it as a gift, and begged God to remove it. Three times I did that,
and then he told me, My grace is enough; it's all you need. My strength comes into its own in your weakness. Once I heard that, I was glad to let it happen. I quit focusing on the handicap and began appreciating the gift. It was a case of Christ's strength moving in on my weakness.
Now I take limitations in stride, and with good cheer, these limitations that cut me down to size - abuse, accidents, opposition, bad breaks. I just let Christ take over! And so the weaker I get, the stronger I become.

Amen and amen! All my life I have felt I am a big nobody. It amazed me my entire life that Yeshua would appear to me and give His Words to me and call me out from the world and the man made churches. I am always amazed He sees something good in me. I constantly ask myself, "What is it He sees in me that He wishes to use me and all this?" Don't get me wrong, I am glad He loves me so much. I can do nothing of my own strength, and yet, He is everything in me. It is really simple: I hold the pencil, but He writes the songs. Amen and amen Charles

Hey Trent,

Sometimes I try to imagine what kind of person I might be if God had not left me with a thorn, or two, or three, in the flesh. I think I might be a loud, obnoxious, bully, know it all who could not imagine herself with a need for God!

So, see little brother, the next time I get under your skin just remember how much worse it could be if I were healthy, beautiful, and rich! Just kidding...

Really good portion of scripture and I enjoyed the translation.

Charles,

When we become a nobody, we are finally somebody meet for God's purposes. So I tell people that my goal is to become less and less and weaker and weaker. I don't want to be self-reliant ... I don't want money or comfort, because those things have always caused me to stumble ... always split my devotion to the Lord ... so away with that!

I like what Paul is saying ... we are glad, grateful for any "gift" that keeps us "in touch with our limitations" so that we have "no chance of walking around all high and mighty"
Amen!

Pam,
"""he told me, My grace is enough; it's all you need. My strength comes into its own in your weakness."""
I always cry when I read that line. In fact, I've cried three times today.
Maybe all these hardships and oppositions I've gone through are strongholds of God ... things He is using to see to it that I never make it very far on my own. He knows what my heart really wants. He knows that you and I have chosen Him above all else.
And so, as you have said, He does what He knows we want and lets satan bring us down ... to our knees and on our knees we find we are just where we need to be to grow and mature and stay away from all things that would spoil our growth and calling.

Ripening,
Trent
