The most dangerous sin

by Trent - originally posted on 4/15/07, 12/4/07

danger of deathIts not homosexuality, nor pedophilia, not even abortion or theft. Those are nowhere near as dangerous as the sins that I am thinking of. They don't even compare.

The most dangerous sins are clearly the covert sins. These sins are dangerous because society accepts them ... even applauds them. In fact, if you do these sins, you are bound to take a leap forward in popularity, and you may take a high position at your church as deacon, or elder, or even pastor of a mega-church. That is what makes them so dangerous ... they don't even look wrong ... they look right!

The most dangerous sins are, sins like pride, self-righteousness, haughtiness, and self-preservation. Those will take you further from God because they are going downstream with the world, and there is little opposition.

I'm going to post this one, with your permission, to my blog and send it out as a bulletin on myspace.

THIS IS THE VERY ESSENCE of the sin "that doeth so easily beset" the religious and (especially) "the high and mighty."

Meekness is not weakness, ... but it may often be 'judged' as such by the world and the worldly and 'the religious.' Meekness *is KNOWING our weakness,* ... and DEPENDING WHOLLY upon the goodness and strength of THE LORD to uphold us and to see us thru the battles and trials and tests of Life.

I just read this passage in Scripture this morning before reading your little meditation here, Trent: "Now Moses was very meek above all the men which were upon the face of the earth." - Numbers 12:3. ... but even *he* ran a very poor second TO JESUS. ... yet this also: NOTE THE LION-LIKE BOLDNESS of Moses and JESUS before the hypocrites, the rebellious, the proud, and the Pharisees ! ... note it very carefully, ... for it is the work and anointing of GOD working thru His broken servant/s.

blessings and Shalom
in Sar Shalom Yeshua.

All these subtle sins are a stifling of the Spirit. God requires humility of His servants a complete forsaking of pride and all we think we know, a complete abandonment of ourselves saying, "Lord take my will and my life, I give it to you...make it your own, oh Lord." Only then can God work through us, only then can we hear His voice.
We all must be broken atop the Cornerstone to be made new...a broken vessel of dishonor gathered up by the Lord refashioned with not even one crack found.
Woe to those who will not be broken, for they shall be crushed beneath the Cornerstone and ground to powder..."dust to dust".

Thank you Trent for reminding me of these things. They are sins with which all men struggle continually. And just keeping them in mind is the first step in staying humble. This is a lesson of which the Lord always reminds me, even everyday.
Believe it or not I feel most comfortable praying before God completely face down on the floor. This is when I feel closest to Him. This how I hear Him best. Humbling myself before the Lord gives me peace in a very busy sometimes overwhelming day.

Blessings to you my dear friend and brother in Christ,
Timothy

Yes Jason, your right, but I believe Trent was addressing the more subtle sins as being most dangerous for most of us, whereas the other more obvious sins are self-evident as destructive to people's lives.
All of us must be aware of all these sins and fight and pray against them. Remembering as Paul said, we fight not only against flesh and blood, but against spiritual evil in high places.
We as the "norm", if I may use that phrase, tend to forget the more subtle sins and let them creep in the same way cancer grows unnoticed doing damage before we even knew we were sick.
Well, maybe I better let Trent address this, because I was merely reading it pertaining to myself and those things I am ever wary of in my own walk and service in the Lord and also from the point of view that this is what the churches of men greatly suffer from, which has made them blind and deaf, though they are sure they hear and see SO clearly and each alone believing they are "thee" church.
A great humbling is coming for all men and a great recompense for those who have committed these obviously destructive sins and have not repented of their evil deeds.

"Vengeance is Mine", says the Lord, "I will repay!"

Even so, Amen.

Come Lord Jesus!

Timothy,
You spoke well. The wages of sin is death. Dead is dead, and one corpse isn't really better off than another. And so, I can see how someone struggling with homosexuality is blessed to have a weakness that is so obviously difficult for them, rather than something that everyone approves of. Simply because the hardship makes for softness.
... Yet is the the hardness of heart of the haughty elite that so often drew the criticism of the Lord Jesus as written in the Bible.
They were right: dead right! And that is something that is tough to overcome through repentance.

A bruised reed, He will not break ... and my wife has met two homosexual hairdressers (never mind the stereotype) that cried out to the Lord in their sin and were delivered.

Two quotes from St. Augustine

"And what is pride but a craving for undue exaltation. When the soul abandons God as it's end and becomes and end to itself. When it becomes it's own satisfaction."

"The two citeis have been formed by two loves: the earthly by love to self even to the contempt of God; the heavenly by the love of God even to the contempt of self."

Herein lies the root of all sin and herein the destruction of man. What lies at the root of pedophilia if not a desire to please oneself? What lies at the root of pedophilia if not the pride that thinks they are above the law, and above God, and thus allowed to do whatever they want irrespective of persons. Pull out the root -the pride and the self-indulgence and the shoots will be gone.

Amen C. Grace, very wise words of understanding. They sound like Proverbs and should be accepted as such. It matters not who spoke them, only that they are of the Truth...truth is truth; and all that is Truth comes from God and is manifest through Christ by the Spirit. For all those who are of the Truth hear Jesus, He is Truth. Amen.

Thank you for sharing.

Blessings in Christ to you and all your beloved.

Thanks for re-posting that one, Trent. We all need these kind of reminders.

Someone once said, "Pride is that slithering, stealthy, silly little thing that creeps up on you unawares and makes fools out of millions untold."

Yep. It's "the most dangerous of sins."

The Lord told me once regarding those who reject His Word and His correction in the Letters saying...
"Pride blinds the eyes and arrogance stops the ears."

I always accept what is TRUTH according to THE WORD and according to The Spirit of Truth. ... I do not accept EVERYTHING that someone or *anyone* claims to be *infallible* and beyond reproach OR correction.

EVERYTHING should be examined *according to the rightly divided Word.* I'm sure we agree on that.

Also: I am not a legalist insofar as the issue of GRACE and what GOD *requires* of His children.

* Micah 6:8&9 * ... I would also refer you to my last posted message here titled,
THE SEVEN PILLARS OF WISDOM.

We need to be careful that we do not 'set ourselves up' and our ministry as THE INFALLIBLE POPE on every single thing we speak 'ex cathedra.' ie/ "thus saith the LORD."

Having said that, I still love you in the Lord Jesus.

Shalom.

Len, my last comment was not directed to you, but was in agreement, even an affirming of your comment concerning pride, according to the Word of the Lord.

However, you are in error concerning all Letters that say "Thus says the Lord".

Yes, we are to test everything as John said, however, this is to help our understanding. And in no way, does it make that, which is TRUTH absolute, questionable, nor does it hang in the balance, until WE have proved to ourselves that indeed it is true according to OUR OWN understanding. This is vanity and pride and great arrogance.

Truth is truth, and stands alone on its own, and is in no way subject to man's understanding, which is lacking. True understanding comes from God, through the Messiah.

Brother, you do tread the line, as you have insinuated that anything stating "thus says the Lord" could be as the pope, who speaks in his own name, even the doctrines of devils.

The testing of the spirits is not to establish a word as Truth, for if it is of God, IT IS TRUTH ALREADY. Rather, testing is for the hearer, and for their own understanding in discerning Truth from lies, for their own peace. For even a lie is a lie already. The battle is within our own hearts.

But, I will tell you now, once again... that which I post, which says "from God or Jesus' or "Thus says the Lord", is the Truth, and remains so...it is beyond reproach and correction, whether you doubt or not; even to all hearers, whether they will hear or whether they will forbear. The Truth is self-evident, and will be made self-evident in the hearts of all, when the Day of the Lord comes.

Though it be ridiculed and violently opposed, it shall be made self-evident in the hearts of men in that DAY...all will be torn down, until only life and death are set before all men, where then they will choose.
The Truth of God and His Word will stand without question in that Day... leaving only humble acceptance - life;
or proud rebellion - death.

Even so, amen.

Timothy, you know that I have always validated and defended the prophetic word and voice you have posted here and elsewhere. I have always encouraged you to continue hearing from the LORD and sending forth His prophetic word for this hour.

But please know: NO ONE is entirely infallible in these matters. THIS is why the word of God thur the apostle Paul holds sway: "Let two or three prophecie, ... and *let the others [elders] judge.*" [ie/evaluate]

It is folly to insist that every single word we post as "thus saith the Lord" is BEYOND REPROACH OR INCAPABLE OF *ANY* error or even a little needed editing. - NOT, I say, *to change the meaning.* ... but to "fine-tune" THE CLARITY of what is said and meant.

THAT has been my point in bringing these things to your attention.

Even so. I love you and appreciate you anyway, ... even if we have a slight disagreement or misunderstanding.

Shalom.

Ok Len, I understand and already forgave you for the pope comment...however, Brother, I never threatened you...I have told you the Truth as heard from God. Again, the Word of the Lord given me is above correction and "fine tuning", because it is His own Word. The Lord Himself spoke to you saying this. Yet, you have heard only in part. My OWN words of my own making are wind and must be qualified, which I try to do according to the understanding given me. The Lord's Word needs no qualifying as I explained in the 1st email I sent you, even the Lord Himself answered to this. Anything misconstrued is only a lack of understanding on our part, in NO way is it the error of the Lord's Word. Brother, your not understanding...leave me out of the picture for a moment. I am the Lord's type-writer, the mailman, one taking dictation... thats it.

You must ask yourself is the Word of the Lord fallible? Would you have written any of these emails to any of the Old Testament prophets saying, "we need to fine tune this, Ezekiel, this is to wide sweeping and to harsh"?

Brother, I hear the Lord SPEAK! This is not as the gift of prophecy in the Church (1 Cor. 12.), it is not as the inspired word He gives to His servants, as commonly thought of or understood...THIS IS HIS SPOKEN WORD. The Lord talks and I write what He says. This is why I have been firm with you. The Word of His mouth usurps everything, even you being older than me in the flesh and in the faith. He is the Lord!... The Head! To even think YOU could "fine tune" His Word is great arrogance...repent.
I tell you these things because I love you and you are greatly beloved of the Lord and you shall serve Him. He REQUIRES humility of His servants and His Bride.

Are the sincere Christians above correction? The Lord corrects and disciplines ALL those He loves?

2 Tim 3:16
All Scripture is God-breathed and is valuable for teaching the truth, convicting of sin, correcting faults and training in right living; [The Letters from God and Jesus are Scripture...same Author]

They are for correcting us...shall we now correct them?

1Co 2:16 -
For "who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?"

None of what I tell you has anything to do with my pride, rather the Lord is continually correcting and humbling me. Rather, this is KNOWING Who's voice I hear and Who's presence I am in when He speaks.
Therefore, brother, I can NEVER be moved. Nothing anyone says will ever move me. You would be the same if the tables were turned. Again, this is not pride, but steadfastness in the Lord - I will NOT deny Him, nor will I bring my Lord or His Word down to human standards in effort to make them maluable, for this is what the churches of men are most guilty.

Read these verses below and KNOW the Lord has fulfilled them by me...to HIS own glory and in so doing has greatly humbled and abased me, making me a vessel meet for the Master's use. The song "Amazing Grace" is about me. I knew nothing, I only started reading the Bible in 2005... I have never been to church. I am still the idiot. Can't you see?! ALL is the Lord's doing! Even ALL OF IT.

Numbers 12:5
Then the Lord came down in the pillar of cloud and stood in the door of the tabernacle, and called Aaron and Miriam. And they both went forward.
Then He said, "Hear now My words: "If there is a prophet among you, I, the Lord, make Myself known to him in a vision; I speak to him in a dream.
Not so with My servant Moses; He is faithful in all My house.
I speak with him face to face, Even plainly, and not in dark sayings; And he sees the form of the Lord. Why then were you not afraid To speak against My servant Moses?"

[Yes brother, I have experienced all three of these things - a vision, in a dream, and Him speaking with me directly.]

I am not a prophet of the church as people think of it(although I am Christ's Body). I remain outside and separate from those to whom God's message is intended.

The Lord has spoken now saying to let you go your way for now and debate with you no further.

I am to tell you to seek the Lord and He Himself will answer to the truth of my words, and speak to you of His Words...

Obey His Word.

Brother, lay everything aside, even everything you think you know, all preconceived notions, all pride, even all of yourself and seek the Lord and listen, and He will answer you. This is what I was supposed to deliver to you as the Lord has commanded me.

Blessings in Christ,
Timothy

P.S. I will be praying with you.

Trent after reading your post which I agree this came to mind

Matthew 5 1-11

1And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:

2And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,

3Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

4Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

5Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

6Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

7Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

8Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

9Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

10Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

11Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

What a wonderful world it would be if this was everyone's standard, yearning to be meek or any others listed. It may prevent the type's of sins you spoke of.

Be loved everyone you are

Trent,
Thanks for posting all these things. Greed is another sin I think that can be added to that list. The greed of our country has reached the ears of the Most High. All around us is greed. Firms ship a lot of jobs to the poor countries and puts hundreds of Americans out of work, all in the name of saving a penny. Some churches teach give more money so God can bless you to prosperity. We could on and on with all these things.

I appreciate you guys a great deal. Timothy is a wonderful person who is a meek prophet of the Lord and he is greatly appreciated as well. I ask Yeshua to bless you and Timothy in a beautiful and special way. You guys are dearly beloved in the eyes and heart of God. I count myself a sinful man and it is only by the grace of God that I am forgiven and loved so dearly by Him. Wow! Knowing how much He loves us is really mind blowing, being the sinful men we are!! Obviously, we got some good parts of us too--big smiles. Love you guys! Charles

Charles,
You are right about greed, because it is often encouraged and applauded ... get good enough at it and you might get to have a reality show about finding your apprentice ...

You are such an encouragement. Yet I know I speak for Timothy when I say ... all glory to God and God alone.

I suppose there is some good parts in us ... of which is Jesus Himself ... for it is His presence in the innermost being of man that makes all the difference. It is His inclusion into and infusion of my spirit that truly makes me fit for the Kingdom while here on earth.

It is mind blowing to think of such a wonderful loving gift, for just as Paul said ... in me, that is my flesh, is no good thing.

Hallelujah!

"So you will recognize them by their fruit. Not everyone who says to me 'LORD, LORD!' will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, only those who do what MY FATHER in Heaven wants. On that day, many will say to me 'LORD, LORD!' did'nt we prophesy in your name? Did'nt we expel demons in your name? Did'nt we perform many miracles in your name? Then I will tell them to their faces, I never knew you! Get away from me , you workers of lawlessness!"
MATTHEW 7:20-23
We must remember that it is our call from our LORD and SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST to go out and draw in the lost sheep who have been lured into deception by the pawns of the great deceiver who promote greed, pride, haughtiness, self-promotion,prosperiety and all other forms of the satanic flesh. I wanted to finish this with a long, long list of names of those who are promoting this blasphemy but my FATHER Will's otherwise. Stand strong, much Agape LOVE to all my brothers and sisters
