Take the best. Ditch the rest.

by Trent - originally posted June 24, 2006

Family gatherings often involve massive meals. When we get together this summer, at our reunion, I am going to eat like a pig. I've had a couple of meals this year with family that I swore were the best meals of my life. But, one thing is better then eating those meals ... the only thing that beats it is when the next day, you can sit on the potty and get rid of most of the meal.

Our bodies take food in, and digestion picks up whatever value the food has. But, what is nice is that whatever is not the best gets promptly expelled.

GraceHead.com is like a buffet teaching from multiple sources. Take it and eat up, but please do not try to digest it all. Take the best, and ditch the rest. Keep only what is nutritious for your soul.

It may mean only 1 out of 100 things that I say are of value to you. (I would hope for more, but that may be unrealistic.) However, I want you to rid your mind by expulsion everything that isn't the best. Only cling to what makes your heart leap with delight. And be quick to toss out that which sounds harsh and wrong, even if you don't know what exactly is wrong about it ... even if there is scripture used to back it up.

If words at GraceHead.com fall upon you as light as a feather, then I urge you to give them full consideration. When they bum-rush you like a rodeo bull, then I urge you to regard them least of all you read.

There are many things that I do not understand, and God allows my ignorance to persist. I don't know what those things are, so I remain confident even in my stupidity. r u constipated?

So some of the things that I say will hit you so wrong that you will want to question everything that I have ever said. Just realize that those are the things that I don't even know that I am ignorant about ... and God lets me be ignorant about them so that you WILL question me, and ultimately NEVER put your hope in me teaching you all things ... and rather you will find yourself always going to God about them ... and in going to God for answers, all will go well for you.

If I were more practiced in sending you to God, then God may not have to keep me in ignorance so that my vexing notions were not the main thing that I say that is sending you to Him.

I guess this is the lesson that is before us now ... to learn to acquire no following and to send all to the Jesus Lord.

I appreciate your patience with GraceHead.com writers, me in particular ... as we are "still ripening."

This site is remarkable. A thank you to those involved in its development.

It may be important to note that Christ clings to us and religion in its pure state still has an important role to play (James 1:27). Ordained religious institutions have never been entirely pure, and since May 21, 1988 (the world's 13,000th year) no traditionally ordained religious institutions have served the LORD in carrying the true Gospel to the world (1 Peter 4:17).

And yet, God's charity (1 Corinthians 13:4-8) remains overwhelming as a great multitude (Revelation 7:9-17) are being saved at this time.

All praise and glory in Christ Jesus name to our heavenly Father. Amen.

Bro,
This is the first post I wholeheartedly disagree with, but only according to the Letters(and Bible verses I post), as they are meant to in many cases 'bum rush' people(the blowing of the Trumpet) and by no means does God want anyone to discard even one word in them... the same with the Bible(except for that mistranslated by men; i.e. "hell"). Much of the Bible is also written in a way to 'bum rush' people and in many places is very unpleasant... this is a wake up call for all of us who slumber.

Maybe you can better explain. Because when I post the Lord's Word... those who discard it, ignore it, or scoff at it, even one word of it, do so to their own soon coming correction and discipline in the Day of the Lord's refinement.

So then, it is the Lord, who will take the good in men and burn away or cast off all that is of no use to Him, but this is not so according to our intake of His Word and proclamations... for this is the time of the 'Wake Up Call!' and quick digestion, no more time to sit there and hope for the best. Its time to actively seek spiritual health. And the only things we need to discard are the real waste products of man's doctrines and corruptions of the Most High's Word.

So Brother, in all love for you, this message will lull Christians to sleep, and cause them to sink back into the mire of the lukewarm... like the wicked and slothful servant, who went out and buried what his Master had given him, never producing any fruit at all.

I understand, though I may have misunderstood your 'deep' thoughts on this bro. :^)
Forgive me if I have.

I understand this posting Trent. We all are not all in the same place at the same time. God is massive and with faith shows us what we need. He is the only all knowledgeable. It does me no good to wither from what I do not understand taking me out of the race I am trying to run. Nor does it do me any good to use what I do not understand to be more self crucifying then I already struggle with.

It takes every bit of every little thing to hold on to God loves me because I know me and that is my only hope in the world not anything or anyone else.

There are some of use who have no problem knowing what we lack and some others are not walking around in the delusion of our greatness.

We are a family with different places in the body and just like the lotion I may put on my feet because the skin is dry, the same lotion would only cause my face to become red with inflammation.

Thank you for your Trent and may God keep you as He loves you

Hi Trent,

The best part...'never put your trust in me'. Only Jesus. Especially in my case since what think I understand to day, God is likely to show me tomorrow that I don't.

Tim,

That was an old post and, to be honest, I don't completely agree with it either.

""" This is the first post I wholeheartedly disagree with"""
What I am saying ... is TRUST that disagreement in you with regard to what I write. If you disagree, than disagree with no shame ... I don't think all of what I say should be agreed with by all peoples.
You know, that what we right reveals something about us, and how people react reveals something about them. ... and that is only stuff written by a man ... It gives me boldness to say what I think and what I know is true, knowing that
... even with scripture (which is free from error) it is foolish to disagree and wise to agree, so blessed are those that agree with the Word of God in its entirety ... and the condition of man is revealed in how much or how little it is agreed upon. The Word of God stands (unlike the notions of men) ... and those that are violent towards the Truth are going to find out sooner or later, that they are only harming themselves.

I only bring this up, because I want to eliminate any doubt in your mind (or others) that when I wrote this (a couple of years ago) that I had any intentions to applying this post to scripture ... but it is worth discussing and I am glad you sent the comment.

Lets not be lulled back to sleep, nor sing a lullaby, when we should be blowing the trumpet. But, I can see that you are wide awake and that makes me glad ... even glad that you voiced your disagreement, because I believe your arguments for disagreeing with what you heard when you read it ... still stand up against what I meant to convey when I wrote it. (if that makes any sense.)
:-)

More often, I am better aware of what I am saying than I am aware of what people are hearing ... thus, I need good feedback, such as yours, to work towards making clearer any message that I attempt to convey.

Ripening,
Trent

Amen Trent,
You said, "You know, that what we write reveals something about us, and how people react reveals something about them"--indeed.

And what has been revealed to me concerning you and me is summed up in this verse(you are the wise man and I am the one who is near to finally learning not to reprove a scoffer):

Pr 9:8 -
If you reprove a scoffer, he will hate you; if you reprove a wise man, he will love you.

These also apply to what you said in your comment:

Pr 9:9 -
Give to a wise man, and he grows still wiser; teach a righteous man, and he will learn still more.

Pr 13:14 -
The teaching of a wise man is a fountain of life, enabling one to avoid deadly traps.

Pr 16:23 -
The wise man's heart teaches his mouth, and to his lips it adds learning.

Pr 24:5 -
A wise man is strong; yes, a man of knowledge grows in strength.

Pr 29:9 -
When a wise man argues with a foolish one, he meets anger and ridicule without relief.

Ec 9:17 -
A wise man speaking quietly is more worth heeding than the shouts of a ruler commanding fools.

Ec 10:2 -
A wise man's heart leads him rightly, but a fool's heart leads him astray;

Here is a Word from the Lord Jesus that describes many Christians and the churches biggest problem(or ailment) today, besides that of not taking the time to actually read the whole Bible for themselves, and then when they finally do, they tend to do it as follows:

From Letters Vol. 1 - "Hypocrisy Turned to Rejoicing":

[Jesus]"...you say that you have Me, yet you do not follow My ways. You read My Word, yet you read it as one devours fruit. You eat the sweet parts, and spit out the seeds, and cast away its core. Do you not know that one lives on every word uttered from the Father's mouth? Therefore, if you only pick and choose those parts you find most pleasing to you, then how can your faith grow? Do you not know that My words are the seeds that can grow and flourish in you; and I, Christ Jesus, as the core of all that is beheld of the Word. Therefore, I say to you, My beloved child, you are a child in your faith and remain so...you are perverse in your segregation of My Word. You listen to doctrines of men, but the Lord, your God, you hear not. You bear false witness against your own self. You say, 'I know the Word. I have no need for correction or guidance.' Woe,______ ...I say, woe. You have become divided against yourself."

Of course now, after talking with Trent on the phone and going back and reading this slower, I know that Trent was talking about whatever we OURSELVES post and NOT that from the Lord's mouth and that in the Bible.

My point was to warn Christians to not be lukewarm and to not take verses out of context to suit there own beliefs; and to especially NOT segregate the Scriptures to fit with any doctrine of men, as to uphold it by ignoring the whole of the rest of the Bible or even just because a certain Bible verse or Letter seems unpleasant do to lack of understanding.

And greater still: To NOT ignore that Trumpet I am blowing, which the Lord, HIMSELF, has placed in my hand!
For we all testify to what we currently know and understand, yet I tell you without hesitation, or one hint of pride, or arrogance, that which I post which says, "From God or Jesus" at the top, is the greatest and should be heeded above all others, as it is not my knowledge or understanding, nor my words at all...

For I have told you the Truth as I heard from God's own mouth and even as I heard from the mouth of our Savior Jesus the Christ, Yahshua ha Mashiach.

Thus has the Lord spoken concerning me and if I am greater than all of you or not; and about that which IS greater. Read carefully...

From Vol. 6 ~ "Love One Another and Obey All I Command You, Says the Lord Your Redeemer"

Jesus speaking:
"Beloved children, obey My voice and hear what I say to you: You remain in My love and shall never leave it, yet of My body, you are not yet one. For your hearts cry out to Me, but from each other you remain separated. Know you not, the power of My Spirit on earth is manifest through My body? You have not used even one tittle of that which I have given you. Therefore, My commandment to you is to love one another and wash each other’s feet. Listen to Timothy, and do even all he commands you this day and the days to come...he speaks for Me. Yes, he is as you, not at all greater, but I have given to him to hear Me, and take what I say and say it to you. Therefore, listen to him. And do not hesitate or resist his commands, for they come from Me...resist the devil."

Timothy,

You quoted "Pr 29:9 -
When a wise man argues with a foolish one, he meets anger and ridicule without relief."

It is ironic how, when I read your comments herd, I hear so much anger and ridicule. When I read your "Letters" and "Trumpet Call," I hear fear and condemnation. In your own words, when it comes to your posts, "I wholeheartedly disagree."

I wonder what I will hear when you reply to this post. But I think I know ... your words will reveal much.

Too weak to do anything but abide,

Dad
