Will acolytes of satan suffer for eternity?

The question is, not whether God would want the wicked to be endlessly miserable, but the question is about how much His enemies can withstand of God's wrath.

Remember Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego? They could hang in the fire, because of the Fourth person (the Lord Jesus) could stand the heat. To me this is a picture of the REVELATION that is made by the Fire, and what can withstand the presence of the fire (even as the guards that through them into the furnace were consumed.)
Now, spring forward to the day of Pentecost ... what did we see over the redeemed heads? Where they not as the bush (before Moses) that burned and was not consumed? And I know why the bush burned without being consumed: God was in the bush!

The redeemed have something in common with the bush that burned without being consumed. The redeemed have the Lord Jesus mingled within their innermost being. They have God within them through their oneness with the Lord. The redeemed are as the bush with God inside ... they may dance in the fire, even as the fire danced over their heads that day. For having Eternal life, makes the redeemed view the Eternal fire, as Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego can view the fiery furnace ... we will be saved, because the One, Whom we worship and Whose blood flows within us, is not threatened by any flame.

Now to directly answer the question: the godless won't last long in the exposure to the sea of Fire, and are on the wide path to "DESTRUCTION." They will be as a bush that burns and IS consumed, for God is not in that bush, and "God is a consuming Fire."

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." Jn 3:16

It isn't duration of "suffering" that is at stake. It is a Life and death situation.

I tend to think you are entirely
right in this insofar as "GOD the
Torturer" goes. Hell and the lake of
fire is ETERNAL seperation from GOD.
- plenty reason enough to avoid it
at all cost.

duration of punishment for satan,
his fallen angels, and those who
follow their pernicious ways...NO ONE. ... but a lot of people PRETEND
they know. (!)

What I've read in Revelation says that Satan and the false prophet will suffer eternal torment. That isn't said about men, Death, or Hades. The latter will be destroy but my understanding is that the other two will suffer and I believe the purpose of that will be for a reminder of the sufering disobedience to God wrought upon us all.

I also believe that the Lake of Fire will beging at the fires of Gehenna and grow to consume not only the lost but the entire universe before the establishment of the New Heaven and New Earth. God is a consuming Fire. It is more than my imagination can hold.

John 15:5 -
"I am the Vine, and you are the branches. Those who remain in Me, and I in them, will bear much fruit; for you can do nothing without Me.

Note: The furnace in Daniel 3:19 was heated "7 times hotter"; and they were taken through with no hurt and not even the smell of the fire was on them. And that they were condemned to death by the ruler of the known world(then), because they would not bow down or worship the 'image'. Any of that sound familiar?

Other notable verses related to your post:

Mt 13:30 -
"Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, "First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn."

Mal 4:1 -
"For behold, the Day is coming, Burning like an oven, And all the proud, yes, all who do wickedly will be stubble. And the day which is coming shall burn them up," Says the Lord of hosts, "That will leave them neither root nor branch."

1 Cor. 3:13
