GOD IS R E A L I S T I C LOVE...and more...

GOD IS LOVE.

HE is also "angry with the wicked every day."

We must be VERY CAREFUL to always distinguish clearly between the group that is the object of HIS LOVE, ... and those who are the object of His anger or wrath.

* Predestinated, elect Christians.

* CHRISTIANS in varying degrees of carnality and/or ignorance.

and

* The rejecters, the tares, the goats, ... those covered by the indictment in Romans 1:18-32.

GOD IS A CONSUMING FIRE.

HE IS ALSO THE REFINER'S FIRE, *and* GREAT MERCY ... for His own.

Blessed be the Name of the LORD Yeshua, and the Fire of His Holiness.

It is hard to imagine the extremes of God's love, without fury at that which opposes it.
It is hard to imagine the extremes of God's fury, without a jealous love that wants to liberate all those willing from anything that leads away from our desire for such a love.

Love and fury seem more and more to me as indispensables of the other.

Ripening,

GOD is jealous for His people, ... and He does not make allowances for false gods or idols that would usurp His rightful place in *every* heart. - this is why we so often see exhortaions to "return to your FIRST LOVE relationship to Jesus."

Fury, wrath, and righteous indignation is GOD reaction to that which seeks to destroy THE REAL PURPOSES of His Creation: Joy, Peace, unending fellowship, righteousness, Truth, etc.

GOD IS GOOD and GRACIOUS, ... but worthy also of a righteous fear. ... "the fear of THE LORD is *the beginning of wisdom,* ... and KNOWLEDGE of THE HOLY is [the beginning] of [true] understanding."

Trent your response reminded me of what a wise pastor told me.

Ones capacity to love is ones capacity to do harm they go with each other.

Of course God does not do harm as much as He pronounces judgment, I think what God shows us is that one is not without the other.
However God is perfect and we are not so it is good that we are not in His seat.

I think that is a main reason there is 1 Corinthians 13 1-13
We are not God and because of that we are to fall on the side of love. God's judgment is perfect, with perfect understanding and knowledge of every heart.

Sorry Len I didn't mean for you to think that I did not ignore. Just that by the time I posted you had also but when I was typing my post I was called away and then when I hit enter you had posted, so I just saw your comment now.

I am not sure anyone can not see all sides of God. His Love and Mercy are without bounds but also is His destruction if He deems it so. It is beyond awesome.

Scary at times at least for me. I know I tremble at the thought of Him but at the thought of all of Him. For the Alpha and Omega God is.

Be loved you are

Hi Len,

I think many want to deny the wrath of God because they compare it to our own unrighteous wrath which is never motivated by love. God's wrath is always for a purpose and always righteous. How could a loving God not hate that which separates Him from His children?

Hi Mrs.Zeke, Hi Pam.

Thank you both very much for your comments here. I think you both brought more light to bear on a difficult and sometimes tricky subject:
GOD's capacity for both wonderful and gracious Love, ... and His wrath and judgements against defiance, rebellion, unrepentance, ... and even (at times)'Christian carnality.'{which is really nothing more than the operations and machinations of 'the fleshly nature.'}

Pam, I was particularly blest by your insight. I know that I have been at times guilty of giving place to frustration and/or "a too confrontational" spirit that is not in keeping with the fruit of peace, patience, and understanding. thank you for your reminder: often it is true that people "want to deny the wrath of God because they compare [HIS wrath or anger or judgements] to our own unrighteous wrath/anger which is never [or rarely] properly motivated by love." RATHER: "God's wrath or judgement *is always for a [wise]purpose and always righteous."*

Yes. I see that clearly. thank you.
