Christ, The Power and Wisdom of God

I Corinthians 1:18-31 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written"I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent." Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe. For the Jews request a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom; but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, that no flesh should glory in His presence. But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God and righteousness and sanctification and redemption--that, as it is written, "He who glories, let him glory in the LORD." AND 1 Corinthians 2:16 For "who has known the mind of the LORD that he man instruct Him?" But we have the mind of Christ.

What is the mind of Christ but that of our own minds that have been spiritually reborn through faith in Him that was gifted to us at the moment in which Jesus Christ was revealed to us. The mind of Christ is that mind living in total submission to God the Father in seamless obedience to the Will of God. Salvation in Jesus Christ is not an idea contrived by men for it could not have come from men for men seek signs and wisdom and never, on their own accord, seek after God. Why should those of us who have been saved through the revelation of Jesus continue to look for signs by which we can prove to ourselves the work of God. Signs that agree with the theology we have adopted or formed in our quest for wisdom. Not necessarily the wisdom of God but wisdom that we can posses within ourselves, of ourselves, to our own glory. This earthly wisdom dressed in godliness by which those called out in Christ Jesus divide ourselves and bicker over Who has the correct understanding and the signs that prove that understanding. Christ is the power and wisdom of God that is foolish to men who are above all things most foolish in the puffed up state of their own knowledge. We strain at gnats in the attempt to decipher that which God has made so simple that it is completely indecipherable to human beings, that of our Salvation in Chirst. An act not of knowledgeable wisdom but the wisdom of Divine Love in God reaching down to obtain those who are base through the blood of His only begotten and dearly beloved Son. This an act that our feeble minds can't fully grasp but is the Power of God from death unto Life.

The impossibility of making unholy and unrighteous men holy and righteous, simplified beyond the understanding of all women and men in the only name given by which we all can be saved and that name is, Jesus. Amen.

Hi Vint,

I recently had the same thought but to me it came as, everything that I feel too weak to face and I cry to Him, "But, I'm not!" He softly answers, "I am!"

I am having a great day with my husband, son, and grandson. What can be better than a day filled with the warmth of family? My grandson's first word is 'Meow." so we are having a wonderful time 'meowing' back and forth with Isaiah!;0)
