I am offering this 'modernized' excerpt of A W Tozier's preface to his classic book, The Pursuit of God, as an encouragement to all of the GraceHead readership and ask the simple question "Does this sound like your heart?"
In this hour of all-but-universal darkness, one cheering gleam appears - within the fold of conservative Christianity, there are to be found increasing numbers of people whose religious lives are marked by a growing hunger after God Himself. They are eager for spiritual realities and will not be derailed with words, nor will they be content with traditionally correct "interpretations" of truth. They are thirsty for God, and they will not be satisfied until they take deep drinks at the Fountain of Living Water.
I think the church in America has reached a point in its human pragmatism that the 'altar' has all but been destroyed. The traditional form of Christianity has all but vanished. I believe that this is a good thing that God has allowed to come to pass in that if the form vanishes, God's people will be forced to seach for the God arround whom these forms were constructed.
Yes, there is a cloud of hope upon the horizon in those who are thirsting for God. I am hopeful that God is about to do a great work in our own time.

I say, Let there be a Lamb without blemish sacrificed for the atonement of sin, and so it is; even let the Lamb be My Son, a cleansing of all men. Sing hallelujah! ~ God [Letters from God and His Christ - Volume Volume 4 - To the Church Who Is in the Midst Of and Sits Upon the Seven Hills]
