Jeff took some heat for his blog.

Jeff is taking one for the team over HERE over THIS.

As he put it: "I received a private email, stating how they were upset by the whole thing... that the man was crying out for help and wasgiven nothing more than a religious exercise."

So this is how I replied:

Jeff,

Anyone that has ever typed 'prank call' in google, knows that these type of conversations are all over the net. Though I have noticed that VERY few of them identify the person that is being dialed. Maybe its a happy accident that I never got his name.

Anyway, I appreciate the heads up, and hope you don't take too much heat over it.

I just blogged about it, so if you want, you change your link to the link that I used in my blog instead of hosting the file on your own.

The man cried out and God heard him. What I said and did, is nothing compared to what Jesus will do for the man as his Good Shepherd. I'm just a fellow knucklehead sheep, and if somebody thinks that I goofed it up or dropped the ball, I won't argue with them. They are probably being generous for not declaring my true depths of depravity. I would prefer that they think of me any higher then the common fool that they meet on the street, then to esteem me at all.

There are countless people that could have had a more orthodox demeanor on the phone with this man, of which few would object. I have no idea why this man ended up on the phone with someone as inept as me, but he did. But, at least we aren't talking about how great I handled it. We can all agree that God did all the heavy lifting, and I was in way over my head.

To be honest, I am in way over my head alot. And situations like this are becoming less and less rare, though my skills in handling them have shown no real improvement.

I guess that makes for more reason to thank the Lord, and not me.

Still ripening,
Trent

Behold the Lamb of God! Without spot or blemish sent to die for the sins of the world, bearing the full weight of transgression in His own body. My Son, you are, and will always be, the Risen Lamb of God, whereby you took the leaven of the world, having completely unleavened all men once for all time by your blood, having been the perfect sacrifice for sin, acceptable to God, whereby men have been reconciled to the Father; they themselves becoming once again My sons and daughters free to enter the Garden and My love, which they shall never again be separated; their new life lived in and for Christ Jesus, the Lord and Savior, in whom I am well pleased. ~ God [Letters from God and His Christ - Volume 5 - Unleavened]
