Surrender happens one moment at a time. Not one area at a time.
We die daily.
We don't amputate daily.
Cut off a branch and another grows back in its place, or the sap just goes to the parts that you didn't cut off.
If you don't like the fruit, then lay an axe on the root.
This Kingdom living only happens one moment at a time, and the past has nothing to do with your current need of rescue ... to walk according to the spirit - all or nothing - this moment.
When you've gone through a week of carnal moments, use the next one or this one to break from the trend. Use this moment to take a step in Christ. He is one thought away ... a thought that says, "I can't! Help! I am all out of love. You come and be my love in me right now!"
This is so true. Also, often people can decide to commit every area of their life to God, but they really do not change the heart. That way, if asked, they can say they have, but if you look, they have not really, and its not really getting better. No, this can't happen in a day. What triggers it though is just opening up to God. People often feel that they can't do this, and they are so right! But God can! Just open up, let Him in, let Him control, and you will be shocked at the resultls!
-Lukas
Yes, these things are forgiven the penitent man. And that penitent mans devotion is proven by works in obedience, wherein he shall shed the skin of the world and become reborn, fully established in Christ by My Spirit, and hated of the world, leading to strife with your neighbors and loved ones. ~ Jesus [Letters from God and His Christ - Volume 4 - Walk Not Where Others Walk]
