... Natural Disasters are NOT the Judgment of God

4 Reasons Why the Recent Series of Natural Disasters are Not the Judgment of God
by Bud

Recent catastrophes such as last year’s Indian Ocean tsunami, the two category 5 hurricanes which hit the US gulf coast, the latest major earthquake in Pakistani Kashmir and the latest rumblings of Mt. St. Helens and Yosemite National Park have prompted many people to boldly proclaim that these are God’s judgment for sinful nations or communities which said or did ______ (fill in the blank).

There’s a lot of speculation going on in a number of circles proclaiming God’s judgment on the heathens in India & Pakistan or ‘the really bad’ sinners of New Orleans. Before pointing fingers and putting words in God’s mouth, we should stop to take a look at what the Bible really says about God, judgment for sins and cataclysms.

Interesting read here, Bud! I have oftened wondered, if the "wages of sin are natural disasters", then why isn't the globe one big pile of smoking debris? Seeing how "all have sinned and come short of the glory of God". This writing definitely clears it up.

I still don't understand the Great Tribulation thing, though. I've just put a proverbial check mark by it, and figured if it's important for me to know, then God will teach me. Like it says, I won't be here anyways, so no big deal. (for me, that is) I don't understand how tribulation is going to be a testimony. Are you saying that God won't "make" bad things happen, but rather it'll just be the consequence of humanity trying to govern itself? I'm not sure I understand. No, I'm SURE I don't understand :oP. But, it's still an interesting read.... I'm enjoying this! Even if I a day late and dollar short in reading it :oP
Blessings!
